Resolutionary

One of those ideas that seemed like a good one in December…

The Gallery: Photography Resolution…

Hey there! Hellloooo! It’s Kailexness! I’m joining in The Gallery from my Resolutionary Blog this week because, to be honest, it seemed daft not to!!

One of my new years resolutions was to get my digital files sorted! My dear husband thought it would be a good idea to upload all our digital images into individual date order – it wasn’t, it’s a bloody night mare! So I’m having to rename all the files since 2007 and put them in year folders so they are at least viewable.

My photo albums stop pre christmas 2006… it was a busy year, new baby and all that, I need to choose some pictures to print off and get them up to date, 5 years… no small task believe me!

For my 40th Birthday my smalls bought me a digital picture frame, you know the ones that scroll the pictures for you, it’s still in it’s box… I need to choose some photo’s and get that going before November (when I will be 42! Bad Mother!!)

So there you have it in a nutshell, my photography resolution for 2012.

Best get on with it then!!!

Week Four; Mud on the soles

Last week seems to have rushed by in a bustle!

Ironically the only thing I managed to do on my to do list from last week was get my mountain bike out and have a run, it has only underlined how extremely unfit I am, after cycling for an hour I ran for 100yrds to loosen up all my muscles and by the end of that 100yards I was breathing like a chain smoker… I ran the 100yrds back too but only after catching my breath.

Not Impressed…

Anyway, the Mountain biking was fun, got muddy, which of course proves I was doing it right, but then it’s hard to work out how I could have stayed clean with the state the forest trail was in!

So more Mountain biking this week…

The kitchen did get a bit of a spruce up but not as ‘deep’ as I’d planned but I didn’t touch my photo albums… :-(

Insomnia blighted my week again, the OH keeps asking what I’m stressing over, I think I know, it concerns my daughters health and I need to spend some time addressing that issue.

Week Four Goals

Drink more water

Do some bloody ironing :-s

Clear the bits of garden bed which need clearing

Uncluttering which didn’t get done last week..

Week Three: or why resolutions never work for me…

*cough cough, hack, aaaachiooooo! snivel*

What a bloody horrid week…  I seem to be getting over the most mind bogglingly distructive cough but I’m sleep deprived and grumpy.

No… Nothing has been achieved this week except the shedding of a few pounds perhaps.  Wednesdays bathroom bleaching session did clear the old tubes for a while but I have done no exercise bar the school run (there are hills involved) which left me breathlessly hacking most mornings.

*sigh* January is grey and unloving, nothing is nurtured, everything sleeps… I wish I could :-(

This is why resolutions never work, January is just not the right time to make them, new year should happen in April when the Spring shakes us all up a bit…

Enough feeling sorry for ones self…

Week Three… Goals

Kitchen extreme rescue clean required…

Unclutter  the surfaces throughout the house.

Use my F”in trail trainers and/or mountain bike!!!

Organise the photo’s on my hard drive

Lime Scale!!!

FFS! What are you supposed to use on this stuff!!

I’m so pathetically helpless in the housekeeping department, how do these women (you know, them!) keep their houses so pristine?

The deep clean on the bathroom got underway yesterday, armed with bleach, sponges and a toothbrush I scrubbed and scowled (my frown was scary!)  but nothing I did got rid of the lime scale buildup on the shower door, it’s only 2 weeks since I limelited it, so the stuff came out again and now my house smells like a chemical wasteland *cough cough splutter* and hey presto! It’s gone for now… but it will be back curse it!

Am I supposed to spend my entire life cleaning? Because I Won’t WON’T WON’T!!!

*sigh*

I know, it’s a conundrum. As a stay at home Mother, the Children and Domesticity becomes my ‘work’ I should after 5 years be used to domestic servitude and have my routine off pat, not so… Toddlers are not conjusive to house work, have you ever tried to scrape cereal off the carpet, especially once it has dried! And crafting glitter!!! Hellish doesn’t go there…

There must be some secret to it…

Will someone tell me what it is please?

Week Two – Onward… :-p

Erm… yes well… good job most of my Resolutions are long term…

My husband had a really tough week last week, those stormy days with high winds we had had him running around with work, funny how I feel the knock on effect…  Come Friday night (after being good all week) when he said, shall we have a glass of wine I was very pleased to agree. *head desk* 2 bottles later and we retired that night giggling like teenagers. I guess it was a much needed chill out and release, I’m sure we feel better for it after this weekend so I can’t think of it as being bad.

Still… I haven’t managed to use my new trail shoes yet :-(   I had it all planned for Wednesday and then discovered (on their doorstep) that nursery was not open, my little man was not keen on going out in the rain and to be honest, nor was I.

I heard today that the school admissions close in two weeks, last years stress of not getting the place I wanted for my daughter came flooding back if only momentarily, I applied for my little man via the web last September but we have to wait until April to hear, I’m soooo glad we only have 2 children, it’s a killer! Although the county say they don’t allow for sibling weighting I hope they secretly do…

High points this last week were giving up sugar in my tea and only having 2 cups of coffee, as a 6 cup a day girl, this is vast!

Right… lets not dwell. Goals for this week.

EXERCISE!!   Somehow! (this last week I took to charging up and down the stairs at top speed, as a mother I do this often)

Still drink more water.

There are 3 birthdays to organise cards and cheques, I have at least written them on the calendar this year

Tomorrow… laundry *groan*

Mid week round up… Water.

So far so good I think…

Except I weighed myself this morning and that was not good… I hearby declare that this is about how I feel on the inside and not about some line on a scale…

The whole family went cycling Monday, waiting for 2 smalls to catch you up all the time is not good for exercise but I did manage to have a thigh burning sprint on my own.  Yesterday the smalls and I played wii fit, I had a 30 minute session in the middle while they laughed at me wiggling and wavering, it was fun…

I haven’t had any coffee!! I’m amazed! Don’t really fancy tea either but I have been having a couple of cups a day, no sugar though.

The biggest change is water.

I read somewhere recently that some of the signals of hunger the body receives are actually thirst, they suggest you have a glass of water then do something interesting for 7 minutes and see if you still feel hungry. It’s early days but I’m pretty amazed at this, often the glass of water solves the issue! I know I don’t drink enough fluid anyway so this has to be win win…

Unfortunately, the dark chocolate digestives in the cupboard and the pringles in the garage are making themselves know today *cries*

Week One: and Go!

okay, take it easy…

There is another Resolution…. Pace myself, make sure I don’t go all out mad just because it’s a new year, I have a gut feeling that is not going to work.

Today I woke up without a hang over, this is because I’m far to sensible old I didn’t drink a lot last night, simply that, I had one G&T after the children went to bed and I really enjoyed it, I savored it.  I know I said I’m not going to go all out but I do need to shake off a few nasty habits, like wine O’clock or rather Tanqueray and Tonic O’clock as it has become over the festive season.  If only for a while.

In October I had a minor op, I had a general anethetic and since I was pumped full of these chemicals my system has been sluggish, rich food and alchol really has not helped this at all, I feel the need to flush out a bit (Oooerr Mrs!)

So this weeks goals are as follows

Drink Water

Cut back on the booze, preferably to nothing until next Sunday but y’know, I’m a Mother…#sipandrelax

No Junk food (Crisps, Chocolate, Cake etc…)

Drink More Water

Go for a paced jog on Wednesday and Thursday (My only 2 days on my own this week)

Write down what I’m eating and WHY I’m eating it (hunger, comfort, boredom etc)

Drink more Water

No Coffee (This one is the Killer!!!)

Write something fictional… Anything, it’s been too long…. Even if it’s drivel…

and the dreaded housekeeping resolution?

Deep Clean the bathroom

I will keep you updated as I go….
